Pelvic floor health and pelvic organ prolapse is not merely a gynaecological condition, but a silent epidemic affecting the quality of life of thousands of women, affecting familial bonds and life in society at large. At the same time, effective surgical management of pelvic floor prolapse is a surgical challenge for Gynaecological Surgeons due to the difficult anatomy of the area, the need to perform complex surgical maneuvers and the risk of prolapse recurrence postoperatively.
Dr. Elias Tsakos and EmbryoClinic, recognizing the need to support women of all ages, especially after childbirth, organize for the first time the 1st Masterclass on “Pelvic Floor Surgery” on Saturday, May 24th at the “St. Luke’s” Hospital in Thessaloniki, Greece. The Masterclass is organized under the auspices of the Hellenic Robotic Gynaecological Society (HERGS) and is supported by the Hellenic Representative Committee of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists of the United Kingdom (RCOG) and by SofMedica. The event has been notified to the National Organization for Medicines (EOF).
The Masterclass will present the most modern, minimally invasive treatment techniques, with emphasis on the pioneering role of robotic surgery, which offers substantial improvement in the quality of life of patients. At the same time, through evidence-based scientific discussions and presentations, the true extent of pelvic organ prolapse, its impact on patient mobility, dignity, normal functionality and mental health will be highlighted, as well as the fact that its treatment is not only aimed at anatomical restoration, but at restoring life itself back to sufferers. Acknowledgement and treatment of this hidden burden is not only a clinical obligation, but also a social and moral responsibility.
The Masterclass is aimed at Gynaecological Surgeons, Clinical Gynaecologists, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Residents, medical students and those with a special interest in pelvic floor surgery. The internationally renowned Specialist Pelvic Floor Surgeons Dimitrios Bolovis and Cosima Brucker from the University Gynaecology Clinic of the Nuremberg Hospital participate and lead the conference proceedings.
The ultimate goal of the Special Seminar is to strengthen interdisciplinary and international cooperation, integrating the knowledge of clinicians, researchers and scientific societies with the common goal of offering the best possible care to our patients.
The future of pelvic floor health is collective – and it starts here, together, in Thessaloniki.
We warmly invite you to join us for this inspiring, educational and transformative experience.
